It's 2008!

Happy New Year! (Ok I'm a little late, because it's already February.. but the year is still new).

We made it through our first Christmas/New Year together as a married couple, and it was so much fun! I'll post some pictures... (and bore you with random stories hehe)...

Life hasn't really changed for us too much in the past few months - which is good. We're in such a great place right now. John works as a customer service Rep for a plastics company, 2 miles away from the apartment. I work in customer service as well, for Tiffany & Co. - which is 4 miles away from our place! So we definitely cannot complain about the commute. We would love a house, but our situation is working out for us very well right now - in a few years after we have time to save, and maybe if there's more than just the two of us, we will definitely start house hunting!

And I guess we really can't complain out our neighbors.. hehe.. ;-) have you ever seen Everybody Loves Raymond?? We have a similiar fate - DIANE ('Mom' as we lovingly call her) lives in the same apartment complex, with Olivier and Laura. Originally, our landlord offered us an apartment RIGHT across from Mom's - literally you could see in each other's window. You bet, I gave him a call back- "Curt, I love my mother, but are you NUTS??". I've been living in this complex for the past three+ years, so he knows very well who my mother is and where she lives. Anyway, for reasons other than my mother, I am glad we got a different apartment - the floors, bathroom, and kitchen were all redone for us. This is the third apartment I've lived in, in this complex alone, and by far it has been the best one. We are truly blessed.

Here's a little PSA: Have you heard that LAURA got her permit?? Be extra careful on the roads, now that our little Laura is driving! :-)

Oh and for you dog lovers... John's mother got a new puppy- a hound/boxer mix. His name is Noah and he's a cutie. I'll share a picture..

First Blog... by Kristy

We've decided to join the blogging trend! :-) When we get the opportunity, we'll update everyone on our newlywed life and exciting things going on. Married life is amazing and we are having the time of our lives enjoying our first year together as husband and wife. While we've been together for several years, there are still things we are learning about each other... I have learned that John snores (a LOT), and John has learned that I'm not exactly the best cook.. nor am I eager to do the dishes. But our love for each other is still strong so I think we'll be OK! :-)

This is definitely the "Year of Firsts" for us.. first Thanksgiving together, first Christmas together.. etc etc. On Thanksgiving Day I made my very first attempt at an apple pie, and I was extremely proud. My cooking skills are not the best... but, like my mother, my baking skills are not half bad.

We are also finding that we LOVE being Aunt Kristy & Uncle John to our adorable nephews Brendan & Gavin.. but as Erin so perfectly puts it.. they are the perfect birth control! Hehe we love them to death but after a day with a toddler, you certainly appreciate the peace and quiet of an adult-only household! But I've attached some pictures of them because I am just so proud of the two peanuts!
